International travel came to a nearly complete halt in late March 2020 after the shutdown of most international borders. One of my favourite place for staycation! Opened on December 2017, it is still relatively new and trendy. The word Andaz is actually a Hindi word meaning “personal style”, hence every Andaz property in the world is unique and this hotel is the first Andaz-branded property in Southeast Asia! The rooms are plush and modern without being over-the-top, a concept that’s sure to appeal to you! Personally, we like the suite room as the room is big and the price is rather affordable ($500 per night with breakfast). Check out the information here.

One of the perfect spot for your special occasion is to do it at the tents at Mr Stork, an alfresco drinking and dining spot that offers an awing 360-degree views of the city. Located at 39th storey (almost the top of the building), the ambience is simply mesmerising. However, the place is usually quite packed. So, you will need to plan and make the reservation way ahead.

If not, you can always do it at your hotel room. The suite room is relatively big that comes with the living room and the bedroom separated by the doors, which allows you to do your surprise proposal decorations at one of the area.

2. MARINA BAY SANDS SINGAPORE

There is no way that we need to exclude this from our list. This iconic landmark is one of the primary reason why so many tourists wants to visit Singapore.

The rooms are generally spacious. If you think that doing the wedding proposal in the room is not up to your expectation, there are simply too many spots around the hotel to do your wedding proposal. From SkyPark Observation Deck to SPECTRA (A light & water show) and the ArtScience Museum, there will definitely be one that suits you.

Marina Bay Sands is well-known for its majestic Sands SkyPark infinity pool that stretches across all three towers. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, it attracted a huge crowd wanting to take in the breathtaking Singapore skyline. Needless to say, it was always packed to the brim, making it difficult to take a decent instaworthy shots.

Now, that has changed with the strict safe distancing measures put in place, including the queue management system that limits guests’ visit to one hour per day. So, it is actually the best time to do your wedding proposal with a lesser crowd. Hurray!!

This 324-room luxury hotel is located at the heart of the Telok Ayer and Amoy heritage district. It was initially scheduled to open in 2nd Quarter 2020. However, the COVID-19 saga saw the soft launch being pushed to March 2021. The rooms are quite posh and relatively new.

The key highlight of this hotel is its infinity pool at level 30, which boasts stunning view of the surrounding Central Business District (CBD) and gets plenty of sunlight during the day. We would think that this is a perfect location to get down on your knee and ask the question, especially during the sunset when you will witness the day turn to night. How romantic is that!

What we love about this hotel is that the it is intelligently designed and is filled with little surprises all around the place. It is home to an international art collection, featuring specially commissioned artworks – such as Jonathan Adler’s hippo installations and the four-storey graffiti mural displayed across the hotels exterior to create a near-surreal sensory experience. Moreover, they also create their Designer Inspired Rooms, namely the ‘Gabrielle & Camillia’ rooms inspired by Coco Chanel and ‘Eden &  Nirwana’ by Andy Warhol.

The lofty hotel lobby was designed with cathedral-style ceiling and black-iron beams, exposed brick walls and machinery-inspired hanging pendant lights. This is the reason why we choose this place as the perfect ambience for your wedding proposal in public.

If you are shy and would not want to do it in public, you can also consider doing it in their River View Mezzanine. It is an unique room that features two levels, a reading library, and a view over the Singapore River. You can do your wedding props and decoration at the second level to surprise your loved one.
